- 2 mandatory weekly house/dinner meetings (excused only due to work, school, IOP or family emergency) times and days TBD according to members schedules
- 1 mandatory one on one weekly meeting with House Manager TBD per individual and House Manager schedules
- Unexcused absences or tardiness of more than 15 minutes will result in a $50 fine
- Repeated tardiness or unexcused absences will result in fines and/or a disciplinary contract determined by House Manager
- EES is due no later than the 3 rd of every month unless other arrangements are approved by House Manager.
- There will be a $10/day late fee for everyday EES is late, regardless of pre-approved arrangements
- 3 late EES payments will result in expulsion from the Verb House unless approved by House Manager
- EES payments must be in the form of a money order or cashier’s check made out to Verb House. Cash is never accepted. Fines are to be added to the next month’s EES
- 2 weeks notice is required when relocating. Prorated EES will be reimbursed to member from move out date to the end of the month within 30 days
- UA’s may be given at any time of suspicion of use
- Refusal to take a UA will be considered the same as a positive UA resulting in immediate expulsion
- Members are required to give a urine sample within 2 hours of UA being called and must remain in the common area of the Verb House with 2 other members of the Verb House or House Manager, if the member cannot or does not provide a urine sample within the 2-hour window, this will be treated as a refusal resulting in immediate expulsion
- Positive UA’s will be treated as a relapse wherein the member has 15 minutes to gather essential belongings and leave the Verb House, unless House Manager determines the member is a danger to self or others and will then contact the police. The member will have 72 hours to contact and make arrangements with House Manager to retrieve remaining personal belongings from the house. After 72 hours, the member’s belongings will be donated to charity
- Physical violence, threatening or disruptive behavior of any type will be considered a relapse and will be treated as such
- All medication prescribed by a licensed medical doctor must be taken as prescribed, proof of prescription must be provided to House Manager upon move in. The Verb House reserves the right to ask the member to provide documentation from prescribing doctor stating the doctor is aware the member is in recovery
- Not taking medication as prescribed or sharing medication will result in a relapse and will be treated as such
- House Manager will conduct random medication counts, miscounts will be considered a relapse and will be treated as such
- Over the counter medications require House Manager pre-approval on a case by case basis
- Medication is be stored in lockboxes provided by Verb House in member’s room
- House Manager may put any member on disciplinary contract if felt there are behaviors that need to be addressed or changed in order to maintain sobriety and membership in the Verb House
- House Manager will determine actions required of member on contract
- Nightly kitchen duty to be completed between the hours of 6 pm and 1 am, and dishwasher to be unloaded the following morning by 10 am
- The fine for not doing nightly kitchen is $20, an incomplete nightly kitchen duty is a $15 fine
- Weekly chores are to be completed by 10 pm on Wednesdays and Sundays, a late or incomplete weekly chore will result in a $20 fine
- A weekly chore not done at all will result in a $30 fine for the first offense, second offense will result in a $35 fine and a third offense results in a $50 fine and a contract
- Repeatedly not participating in weekly chores will result in a contract and expulsion from the Verb House
- Quiet hours are 10 pm to 7 am Sunday night through Thursday and 12 pm to 8 am Friday and Saturday, not respecting quiet hours will result in a fine, and repeated offenses will be addressed by the House Manager and will be considered disruptive behavior
- Every member is responsible for cleaning up after themselves, leaving personal belongings out will result in a $10 fine.
- Bedrooms are private and personal space to be respected. Members are not allowed to enter another member’s personal space without being accompanied by House Manager
- Bedrooms and personal space must be kept neat and tidy. No dirty dishes, hoarding or food in bedrooms
- The use of another member’s personal items/food is treated as theft and will result in expulsion
- Probationary period (blackout) is for 30 days. The first 2 weeks, curfew is 9 pm until 6 am Sunday through Thursday and 11 pm until 6 am Friday and Saturday. The second 2 weeks, curfew is 11 pm until 6 am. The only exceptions are pre-approved work/school-related time constraints which must be verified by work/school supervisor and House Manager
- Violating curfew will result in an added 30 day probationary period for the first offense, the second offense will result in a contract and the third offense will result in expulsion from the Verb House
- After a successful probationary period, curfew is 12 am. Nothing good happens after midnight
- After a successful probationary period, overnights/vacations out must be pre-approved by House Manager.
- Guests of the Verb House members must be clean and sober for 30 days and willing to UA if asked
- Guests must respect the rules and curfew of the Verb House, members are responsible for their guests’ behavior and actions.
- No overnight guests allowed
- After a successful probationary period, members must be gainfully employed, in school or volunteering for a minimum of 20 hours a week
